About Naj Builds
Build • Validate • Ship
Welcome to Naj Builds, my personal space for sharing what I learn, build, test, and ship as a software engineer.
I'm Christiana Mabel Nyuma, a frontend developer and QA analyst based in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
My work brings together two areas I'm passionate about: building thoughtful digital experiences and making sure they work reliably for the people using them.
Naj Builds is where I document that journey, from engineering decisions and implementation challenges to testing strategies, lessons learned, and the tools that help me work more effectively.
What I Write About
Frontend Engineering
Building responsive, accessible, and maintainable web applications using technologies such as React, TypeScript, and modern frontend tooling. I explore architecture, UI/UX implementation, performance, and the decisions behind real projects.
Mobile Development
Learning and building mobile experiences with React Native and Expo, including navigation, authentication, API integration, responsive layouts, and testing on real devices.
Quality Assurance & Testing
Sharing practical approaches to manual testing, test planning, regression testing, defect investigation, API testing, and test automation. I believe quality is part of the engineering process, not something added at the end.
AI-Assisted Engineering
Exploring how AI development tools can support planning, implementation, code review, testing, documentation, and engineering workflows, while maintaining human oversight and verification.
Projects & Engineering Lessons
Documenting real project experiences: what I set out to build, the architecture and tools I chose, what worked, what didn't, and what I learned along the way.
My Approach: Build • Validate • Ship
Three principles guide how I work:
- Build: Turn ideas and requirements into useful, thoughtfully designed software.
- Validate: Test assumptions, verify functionality, investigate defects, and improve quality.
- Ship: Deliver working software, document the process, and keep improving through feedback.
I value practical learning, clear documentation, accessible design, secure engineering practices, and continuous improvement.
Why Naj Builds Exists
I created Naj Builds to make my engineering journey visible and useful.
I want to share more than finished screenshots. I want to document the thinking behind the work: the problems, trade-offs, experiments, mistakes, testing, and improvements that happen along the way.
Some articles will be tutorials. Others will be engineering notes, project breakdowns, QA lessons, or reflections on learning new technologies.
My goal is simple: share what I learn, explain what I build, and show how I validate and ship it.
